Science Ventures takes a rather different approach to the creation and launching of licence deals and new spin out companies than you are likely used to.

Many professional service providers such as patent attorneys and corporate legal firms for example commonly complain that research-based Commercialisation activities are generally chaotic - and that such clients often do not really know what they want, do not really know the processes involved, are consumed by internal politics; and as a result usually gain very poor value from meager budgets. Poor overall co-ordination of project-management, lack of clarity of roles and failure to complete legal contracts within acceptable timeframes are generally cited as the norm.
